At a recent CFO conference, eXemplify CEO, Robert Hayes, was asked some key questions regarding their business model and services.
Q: How can eXemplify help their clients businesses?
A: eXemplify enables companies to focus on their core business while delivering a solid technology foundation that is like electricity – it’s always on and always available. Further, we allow businesses to leverage and utilize best-of-breed, Fortune 1000 technologies for a fixed, monthly, predictable fee that can scale up or down as the business needs change.
Q: What products and or services does eXemplify deliver?
A: eXemplify doesn’t sell equipment or applications. We are consultants who find the best suppliers for on-premise, private cloud, and/or public cloud solutions to meet client requirements. We also leverage our experience with telecom suppliers to find the most reliable network conduit that will deliver the necessary services capable of maximizing business continuity. Our suppliers enable businesses of all sizes to create predictable IT & Telecom operating expenses, maximize uptime, and scale as needed. eXemplify assists our clients with traditional Telecom services, Voice over IP, Disaster Recovery plans, Cloud services, Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Desktops-as-a-Service.
Q: If an organization has existing applications that require a physical server or appliance, does eXemplify support that?
A: Of course! We are not here to change an organization’s core business. We are in business to identify more efficient ways to manage and support the infrastructure that a business needs to run its operations. Our suppliers can move a physical server into their data centers or migrate applications into their infrastructure-as-a-service offerings. Either way, complete management is offered. In many cases, existing license agreements can also be migrated so existing contracts are not a roadblock.
Q: Who are eXemplify’s customers?
A: eXemplify has customers across a diverse set of verticals from retail to manufacturing to general businesses. Most of eXemplify’s customers have between 25 – 5000 employees, have multiple locations, and depend on their technology infrastructure and applications to run their business – whether 8×5 or 24x7x365.
Q: How does eXemplify differ from other cloud computing or managed services providers?
A: Traditional managed service providers are still focused on deploying and managing servers & PBX equipment. Their sales representatives are tied to quotas that force them to squeeze their client requirements into services that are not necessarily in the best interest of the clients. Most MSPs receive the majority of their profits from “break/fix”, meaning that their income is derived from the failure of their clients’ services rather than uptime. We align our clients with suppliers whose revenue is dependent upon uptime – much like our clients. We understand that most businesses are dealing with the same issues such as redundancy, high availability, backup and recover, and remote worker access. For most businesses, it is cost-prohibitive to maintain the proper infrastructure and staff necessary to deliver best-of-breed technology that is scalable and meets its every day requirements.
